Aldo Palazzeschi

Aldo Palazzeschi was the pen name of Aldo Giurlani, an Italian novelist, poet, journalist and essayist.

He was born in Florence to a welloff, bourgeois family. Following his fathers direction he studied accounting but gave up that pursuit as he became enamored with the theater and acting. Respectful of his fathers wishes that the family name not be associated with acting, he chose his maternal grandmothers surname Palazzeschi as a pseudonym.
